Arriving in Incline Village during 1968 I have been fortunate to watch Incline Village grow from 1000 population into a very special community of over 10,000.

Born in Los Angeles, Calif. and raised in Long Beach, Calif., graduated from Jordan High School.I moved several times, from Alaska, Maibu and several beach cities before moving to Incline Village. During the early seventies I worked on several condo developments such as: Mt. Shadows, Couer Du Lac, Country Club Mall, The Racquet Clue, Cedars, vacant lots, resale homes and commercial properties.

During the seventies Incline Village hosted many events, the Clint Eastwood, Dinah Shore,Dennis VanDerMeer and Billy Jean King Tennis Tournments plus many other celebraties for Golf Tournments held in Incline Village.

During 1984 I joined CENTURY 21 McGregor Realty, Inc. At the time many advantages for new and seasoned agents was available. Today the advantages with the internet offer all companies and agents worldwide access to clients.

In 1987,88,& 89 Incline was the site of the first International Winter Special Olympics. Athletes participated in all events, skiing, speed skating and floor hockey. Having worked with special kids I was anxious to be involved and helped locate housing for the athletes. We held a parade and presented award’s at the Hyatt Hotel.

Since 2007 I have worked with the Historical Society gathering pictures and interviewing residents that have been here since the sixties. The goal is to have a permanent location for the Exhibit. Originally located in the Village Shopping Center, which is the birth place of the Incline/Crystal Bay Development offices, adjacent to CENTURY 21 McGregor Realty,Inc. Now can be visited in the Starbucks building on Tahoe Blvd & Village Blvd.

There is so much history from the Hyatt Hotel & Casino, Cal Neva, Crystal Bay Ponderosa Ranch,Crystal Bay Development to Boise Cascade that so many locals are not aware of. Most people have been surprised as to the history of the area, when they visit the exhibit.

“I’m a very lucky lady to have been a part of Incline’s history from the early years”. I now look forward to sharing this history with all locals and tourists.
